VR cantilever beam

OBJECTIVES

The application allows the user to test two cantilever beams of identical geometry and different materials (Nylon and aluminium). By switching between them it is possible to observe the difference in deflection and to feel the difference in the reaction forces from the beams when load is applied by the haptic device.

It is also possible to evaluate the strain experienced by the beam (in a certain region). With that data for each applied force value, and considering the geometric data, it is possible to compute the Young Modulus for both materials.
